WHAT WE DO.

Youth Empact is a platform which seeks to equip ethnic minority youth in Hong Kong with the skills, support and personal development opportunities to reach their full potentials. It aims to do so through a holistic 11 month training programme consisting of academic strategy & personal development workshops, one-to-one mentorship and community service engagement. By placing a strong focus on individual growth, Youth Empact hopes to enable youth to navigate daily challenges, gain a more confident sense of self and be empowered to achieve their dreams.

Leadership workshops are aimed at empowering inspiring students. Workshops take place bi-annually and focus on providing a space for the acquisition and sharing of knowledge and aspirations. Activities will include keynote speeches from community and ethnic minority leaders, as well as breakout sessions on topics such as careers and volunteerism.

LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS

The year-long mentorship program is aimed at providing students with regular support through the help of a suitable mentor. Each student is designated with a mentor with whom they will meet on a monthly basis to collaborate ideas, set goals, monitor progress. We believe that nurturing personal development is integral to students’ growth, especially as their adolescent years. The first year of this program is currently exclusive to a total of 31 ethnic minority students, and will last from November 2016 to June 2017.

MENTORSHIP SCHEME

Youth Empact provides students with the opportunity to regularly engage in the local Hong Kong community. Students will be matched to volunteer projects on a skill, thematic, and geographical basis, and will also be provided relevant training and support from workshops and team staff. Our goal is to instill a sense of responsible citizenship in our students, as well as foster deeper links with the community while improving their interpersonal skills.
